Lincoln's Ghost
At one point after Lincoln's death Mary went to the photography studio of William Mumler who was a spirit photographer. In a photo he had taken of her appeared a ghostly image of Lincoln standing behind a seated Mary with his hands on her shoulders. The photo was of great comfort to Mary believing her husband was still with her. However sometime later Mumler admitted to superimposing Lincoln’s image onto the photograph.
